ABOUT FORESIGHT GROUP

Foresight Group was founded in 1984 and is a leading listed infrastructure and private equity investment manager with three core investment divisions: Sustainable Infrastructure; Private Equity and Foresight Capital Management. With a long-established focus on ESG and sustainability‑led strategies, it aims to provide attractive returns to its institutional and private investors from hard to-access private markets.

Foresight manages over 400 infrastructure assets with a focus on solar and onshore wind assets, bioenergy and waste, as well as renewable energy enabling projects, energy efficiency management solutions, social and core infrastructure projects and sustainable forestry assets. CHRIS HOLMES

CHRIS HOLMES

Investment Manager

Chris joined Foresight in 2019 as a Partner in the London office with a co-lead responsibility to the JLEN fund.  He has over 22 years’ experience in infrastructure including PPPs, economic infrastructure and renewables.

Prior to joining Foresight, Chris worked at John Laing Capital Management as a Director where he co-led the investment advisory services for JLEN. Before joining JLCM, Chris was a Managing Director and Head of Waste & Bioenergy team at the Green Investment Group (formerly the UK Green Investment Bank plc) for 4 years. During his time at Green Investment Group, Chris was responsible for over £0.5 billion of investment across 18 assets in the waste and biomass sectors.

In addition, Chris was Head of Capital Markets in the Infrastructure and Renewables team at NIBC, also with responsibility for UK debt origination and advisory within these sectors. Chris was was with NIBC for over 12 years, working on a number of waste and bioenergy transactions.

Chris has a BA in Business Economics from the University of Durham.

CHRIS TANNER

Investment Manager

Chris joined Foresight in 2019 as a Partner and currently works in the London office with a co-lead responsibility to the JLEN fund. He has over 20 years’ experience as an infrastructure fund manager, an equity principal, a project director and an adviser.  Before joining Foresight, Chris was a Director of John Laing Capital Management and was co-lead investment adviser to the JLEN fund.

Prior to this, Chris was a Principal in Henderson’s private equity infrastructure team, often working closely with John Laing on a range of special projects, including the buying of investments, corporate refinancing and valuations.​

For the 18 months prior to joining JLCM he was on secondment to John Laing, focused on renewable energy business as Corporate Finance Director.​

Before joining Henderson in 2007, Chris worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers for 11 years, including seven years in the infrastructure concessions team.

Chris is a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and has an MA in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from Oxford University.​

EDWARD MOUNTNEY

EDWARD MOUNTNEY

Investment Manager

Ed joined Foresight Group in 2019 as Head of Valuations across their infrastructure department, with responsibility for the team providing quarterly valuations and analysis on a portfolio spanning over 350 assets and £9.5bn AUM. He joined the senior management team responsible for JLEN in 2022 and he has over 13 years’ experience in infrastructure and renewables.

Prior to joining Foresight, Ed was Head of Valuations at John Laing Capital Management where he was responsible for valuations and financial analysis covering JLEN and the JLIF social infrastructure fund – with a combined portfolio valuation of circa £2bn. Prior to that, Ed was a Project Finance, Modelling and Valuations manager at RSM, where he focused on the origination and management of model build, model audit and training engagements, having previously started his career in audit.

Ed is a qualified Chartered Accountant and holds a 2.1 BA Hons in Business and Management from Oxford Brookes University.

Wilna de Villiers

Wilna de Villiers

Institutional Investor Relations Manager

Wilna joined Foresight’s institutional investor relations team in 2022. She has 20+ years’ experience in corporate and financial communications gained in the ICT and Financial Services sectors. Prior roles included Investor Relations and Communications Manager at Experian Plc and JSE listed Datatec Group.

Wilna holds a Public Relations Management degree from the University of Technology in Pretoria, South Africa.
